WHAT DOES AN IMPLANT CONSIST OF?

THE HEAD

Supporting the actual dental prosthetic, this component is screwed to the osseous root member. We use only state-of-the-art head parts made of either non-alloy, pure titanium (like the root member) or special, metal-free, circonium dioxide ceramics. As these materials ensure full biocompatibility, adjacent tissues (the gum and the jawbone) fit even more perfectly, which facilitates long-term, permanent seating and reduces the risk of any unwanted behavior of the gum, providing aesthetically superior appearance.

THE BODY OF THE IMPLANT

With an internal screw thread in the middle, this component is deeply seated in the jawbone. Root members are usually made of various titanium alloys, however, we use only non-alloy, pure titanium tooth roots to encourage acceptance and ensure undisturbed healing. Also, we put great emphasis on opting for biologically optimal shapes and surfaces to ensure faster tissue regeneration, superior restoration durability and success even when bone conditions are less favorable.

All these shorten the period you have to put up with missing teeth and facilitates reliable and successful implanting even when traditional approaches using less advanced artificial tooth roots would most certainly fail.

We at Dent-A-Lux use implants with the following surface solutions:

Straumann SLA (Sound-blasted, Large grit, Acid etched): the gold standard
Straumann SLActive®: cutting-edge surface structures encouraging bone growth
